⌈ CHARACTER SECTION ⌉

Character: Kaiba Mokuba
Age: 12
Canon: Yu-Gi-Oh!
Canon Point: Season 3, Episode 110.

Background: yu-gi-oh wikia, using English names.

Personality:

(It should be noted that this is anime!Mokuba, and thus lacks much of the hostility his manga counterpart does! )

Mokuba is, for the most part, more mature than a lot of kids his age. He's obviously quite tech savvy, seeing as Seto usually leaves him in charge of things of that nature. He’s seen many times in front of the controls and running different programs at Seto’s request. This also argues for his maturity; Seto hates stupidity, and from what we can tell, he considers immaturity to essentially equal stupidity. But he leaves Mokuba in charge of difficult operations such as those involving Battle City and even leaves him in charge of the company itself when he "goes away on his journey." So, while still a kid, he's responsible and has a level head on his shoulders. He’s not the fifty-year-old-at-sixteen that Seto is, but he’s able to easily able to fall into a responsible adult role when asked of him.

The thing people notice the most about Mokuba is that he has a serious hero-worship sort of love for his brother, plain and simple. But despite what this devotion might make people think, Mokuba has his own personality, separate from how much he treasures his older brother. While Mokuba will follow what Seto says for the most part, asking very few questions, it’s not that he goes completely unchallenged. He’s been seen going against Seto multiple times, questioning what Seto thought was best and even declaring at (later) points that some of the negative things others say about his brother are right. When it comes to it, he’s not above calling his brother out on the shit he pulls at times. Mokuba is very much his own person. It might take some time for him to gather his courage because he does place an extreme amount of trust in his brother (and why not, when Seto has taken care of him his entire life, sacrificed his own health and happiness for Mokuba?) and he doesn’t like seeing him be wrong, but he’ll do it.

It’s not that he’s blinded by Seto’s faults, but he knows that his brother has sacrificed and put himself in bad situations for Mokuba’s sake. He knows that for almost every decision Seto makes for him, it comes from a place of love and concern. Mokuba calls him Nii-sama (honorable older brother, ‘sama’ being the highest honorific he can give) and treasures him so much because Seto has earned it, and Mokuba is smart enough to recognize that.

And yes, getting kidnapped is a big joking point for Mokuba’s character, because it does happen quite frequently. But it’s something that he’s adapted to and learned to handle, showing that he can handle himself and his emotions in a difficult situation. He knows how to remain calm, assured that sooner or later his brother will come for him. As miserable as his time in the dungeon during Duelist Kingdom was, he was completely confident his brother would rescue him, showing that he can think rationally and remain positive even in dire situations.

Then, when Battle City rolled around, he and Anzu were snatched together. He took the initiative when he saw an opportunity and got himself out of the situation. Compassionate even to the people his brother is constantly at odds with, he seeks help for Anzu after he’s made his own escape. Not only is he intelligent, but he's caring and courageous too. The kid clearly knows what he's doing and how to do it, and while he may not be a cunning or pragmatic as his genius older brother, he’s competent and capable. He shows a lot more maturity and wisdom throughout the series than some of the other characters.

Although, to say he's completely mature and there’s no immaturity or brattishness to him would be an absolute lie. In the end, he’s still 12 years old. More likely than not, he's become used to getting his way, and has the occasional temper tantrum when it doesn't happen. He may have started out an orphan, but now he’s rich and the vice president of a multi-billion dollar company at 12 year old, with a brother who undoubtedly indulges him. He has, without fail, inherited some of that trademark Kaiba smug-ness and confidence, both because of his inside knowledge of the business world and by emulating his older brother. However, unlike Seto, he isn't above requesting the help of another person, especially Yugi and the group. He can be smug and bratty, but he also knows he isn’t above others.

When it comes to his abilities with technology, Mokuba is extremely self-assured, and knows exactly what he's doing. There’s no hesitation when Seto asks him to run a system, or when he needs to step in and mess with one. It’s possible he’s self-taught, but there’s undoubtedly some of Seto’s teachings and the observations from his own curiosity.

But coming from his canonpoint, there’s a big alternation in the sort of loyalty Mokuba experiences. At current, he’s brainwashed by Noa, and as time goes on it has only gotten rooted in deeper. That loyalty and devotion has taken a dangerous turn.

He allows Noah to put him in dangerous situations, not seeming to care that it endangers his own life. When his real brother tries to save him, he rejects him, believing (under the influence of Noa) that he does not truly care for him, and it is only an act. Noa’s word has become truth, and he’s discouraged from questioning it, possibly another of Noa’s influences upon him. The brainwashing caused Mokuba to clearly become more withdrawn at times, not saying anything unless it was to Noa. It’s possible the strength of that brainwashing varies, and at these times, it is at its strongest and most difficult to fight. At times, he almost seems like a zombie, blank-eyed and zoning out, difficult to rouse. During others, he seems normal again, with the exception of his unwavering loyalty to Noa.

Abilities:

The magical ability to continue to be kidnapped time and time again.

Actually, Mokuba is highly skilled with electronics, and has a lot of knowledge of business as well as games. His Brother runs a gaming company, where he is vice-president. He knows how to maintain computer systems as well as hack into them to ward off attacks. He knows how company's run, and how to run one second-hand. However, this obviously wouldn't be relevant in Empatheias!

Additionally, Mokuba has been shown to be strangely agile at times, like from having to flee and elude captors. He does things like almost-expertly done drops and slides when chasing after someone, with little trouble.

Alignment:
Elios.

I’ve chosen Elios for Mokuba because love is a defining trait for him, specifically his love for his brother. It motivates many of his more serious actions, and it’s one of his most important influences on his life. It was his and Seto’s love for each other that led to their life being the way it was, both the good and the bad.

However, hate makes a show in this reasoning to. Mokuba’s love for Seto is twisted into hate by Noa, giving him both sides of this alignment.

⌈ SAMPLE SECTION ⌉

Sample: Dear Player sample.

[ The world around him giving away his feelings hadn't been an issue for Mokuba at first, not in the slightest.

He was happy a good amount of the time, leaving trails of vibrant grass in his wake or just something as an enjoyable, soothing breeze. It always happened when he was with Noa, without fail. Sure, he enjoyed being around others and it made him happy, but it was nothing in comparison to how he felt when he was around his brother. The effect in response to those feelings was undeniably corny, like something out a fantasy RPG, but it wasn't troublesome or anything.

And then he'd seen the same happen for Noa, on the total opposite of the emotional spectrum.

He didn't need to get the feeling his brother was unhappy when he had the frost slowly creeping over the ground around him to give it away. It had been deeply unsettling, enough to shake Mokuba straight out of a good mood. Especially when it occurred when he asked what he thought was a harmless question born of curiosity and the strange fuzzy gaps in his memories. While on the average day their residence was a rather nice place thanks to the effect Mokuba's good mood tended to have on the world, those days it was strange cold and flickering lights, only added to by his own upset.

But Mokuba accepted that as a reality with Noa. His brother had some problems and that was fine. Mokuba loved him anyway, and for the most part obeyed him.

He tried not to let it get to him.

He tried not to notice how rarely his amulet held positive emotions, even in Mokuba's presence. ]

The info pages say that the amulet can take on a form relevant to the wearer. Would it be possible for Mokuba's to be similar to his locket?
